Welcome to a blog about politics and knowledge. Join me in pondering how knowledge is produced and what political purposes it may serve.

About the blog

This blog is about knowledge and politics.  It collects pint-size observations and curiosities about knowledge.

While we tend to hold knowledge in high regard, respect for it may make us inattentive to its social origins. We usually describe knowledge as a compillation of facts and information about a given subject. But knowledge is not a natural resource. It does not lie hidden, waiting to be discovered by researchers or sages. I am interested in the processes and institutions through which knowledge is constructed. I am also curious how it gains its elevated status. The blog, at least for now, focuses on Russia.
